The colour of Money

How can we finance all the pressing needs of our societies?

In these times of permanent budget deficits, the question is posed with acuteness, and there are arguments between those in favour of reducing expenditure and those in favour of increasing revenue.

In reality, the prism of the State budget is too narrow for such a vast question. The needs that the public authorities are seeking to finance have multiple causes that have their roots in countless elements of our society. So perhaps it would be better to focus on measures that have a systemic effect on our societies so that the State budget does better, rather than the other way round.

Reforming the way we produce our money is certainly one of them.

Implementing the financial proposals of the Business Climate Conference would be a concrete example.
